![]() Burgundy is the source of many of the world’s most highly prized white wines, and they are made almost exclusively from one grape variety: Chardonnay. White Burgundy ranges from the tight, minerally, flinty styles of Chablis to the rich, almost opulent flavours of Meursault and white Beaune. Elegance however is a ‘must’ for us, and the best of Puligny-Montrachet, Corton and Auxey-Duresses is made by combining good acidity with richness and concentration, as shown by our top-quality producers, to create stunning wines that have the ability to age. Lesser areas of Burgundy are also championed when we find the right grower. Thus the Prudhons of Saint-Aubin, Alain Gras from the high Saint-Romain and Jacquesson from Rully in the Cote Chalonnaise all feature. Lastly, seek out the Maconnais, that warm southern belt encompassing Macon, Pouilly Fuisse and Saint-Veran where so much good value can be found – there’s a great selection here!
