![]() Spain remains a wonderfully reliable area for soft, drinkable reds. So often in the past these wines have been made from Tempranillo which has been aged in old oak to round off the edges, but increasingly we are seeing wines matured in swanky new barrels and made in an altogether crunchier style. To an extent there is a place for both, but we will certainly continue to support good examples of the ‘old’ style reds because they are so immediately enjoyable and need no further ageing by the customer. The whites are so often overlooked, a sad fact reflected in our sales figures, but a nation that gobbles up so much sea food has to have some good wines, so do try our Rueda and Albariño amongst others!
