Clairette

Most widely planted in Provence, the Rhône Valley and Languedoc in France. It is a late budding and slow ripening variety that is unusually vigorous so requires hard pruning to prevent over cropping. It is usually blended alongside other varieties, in both red and white wines, to bring freshness along with flavours of apple, citrus and stone fruit.
