Laphroaig Distillery

The Johnson brothers, who were local farmers, started the distillery in 1815 in a series of small cottages on the Kidalton shore in the south of Islay. The style is intensely peaty, almost medicinal with an oily body. Prince Charles has granted his Royal Warrant to the distillery.
