Burgundy Explorer - Mixed Half Dozen
This mixed case of red and white burgundies shows you exactly what Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can produce from this historic part of France. These wines give you the entry point to some superb drinking, without hitting the eye-watering prices that some of their illustrious neighbours now demand. Our own white Burgundy has a light lick of oak that makes it very approachable, while the Pouilly Fuissé has a rich coating that enhances the buttery side of Chardonnay and the Chablis has no oak at all, presenting with a very clean, piercing edge to it. Tanners Red Burgundy is made by master winemaker, Nicolas Potel, from juicy ripe fruit he finds in the Côte de Beaune. Givry has a loyal following from Tanners customers and is from further south in the Chalonnaise region, showcasing characteristic softness and generosity, while Prudhon’s Saint-Aubin is another long-time favourably demonstrating the poise and panache that good Pinot Noir brings to the table.
