Made in the same method as Champagne, this excellent fizz has crisp, elegant citrus and orchard fruit notes, with a lovely depth showing hints of brioche and a lovely rounded finish.

Further thoughts from the Tanners team...
This Method Cap Classique offers a New World take on Old World methods. Founded by a Shropshire family, this Brut Reserve was released to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Journey’s End and the 50th Anniversary of this celebrated South African style of sparkling wine. It’s a great companion for an assortment of starters, from brie and cranberry filo parcels to baked camembert drizzled with honey and topped with figs. Press Review

"Fresh lemon citrus and green apple aromas are wrapped up in a toasty veneer, with rich buttery peach and flecks of stone fruit. The mineral palate boasts a driving line of acidity that propels you to a super-crisp finish. The mid-palate balances bright citrus fruits with nuttiness, a hint of apricot, touches of nougat and some fresh baguette. "

Journey's End

The Gabb family’s journey, from rural Shropshire to leading South African wine producers, began 25 years ago and is reaching new heights.

The stunning vineyards on the Journey's End estate were purchased and replanted by Shropshire resident Roger Gabb in 1996. With son Rollo now at the helm the consistently strong run of top wine awards is testament to its status as one of South Africa’s most premium wine estates. This beautiful location in the Helderberg Basin near Sir Lowry’s Pass benefits from south-facing slopes and cool coastal breezes. The Schaapenberg Terroir with its sea-facing slopes has drawn comparisons with some of Bordeaux’s best with some exceptional wines emerging from the area. The completion of a brand new, state-of-the-art boutique winery set in the heart of the vineyards means winemakers Leon Esterhuizen and Mike Dawson have all they need to produce their premium top quality wine. There is also a great belief in minimal intervention in the vineyards, allowing nature to do her best at expressing the unique terroir. The estate has impressive ethical and sustainability credentials. It is fully solar powered and Fairtrade certified, and recently received recognition for its commitment to this with an Ethical Company of the Year Award. In 2020 The Journey’s End Foundation was set up to provide meals to, and support, the local community and now provides over 13,000 meals per week.
