Benromach Distillery
The smallest working distillery in Speyside, and owned by Gordon & MacPhail, Benromach was officially reopened by HRH Prince of Wales in October 1998 after significant work and reinvestment. Most of the original equipment had been removed, so new stills were designed and purpose built for the production of a richer, fuller whisky. Sited just outside the old market town of Forres, Benromach takes spring water from the nearby Romach Hills and uses fill bourbon barrels and first fill sherry butts to create its sweet, spicy, rich malts.
