Bovale

There are two Bovales in Sardinia, with Bovale Sardo being Graciano (in Rioja) and sharing the characteristics of a little white pepper, spice and black cherry flavours that you will often note. Some growers claim their Bovale Sardo is Mourvèdre, while the other, Bovale Grande, seems to be French Carignan, a more rustic, coarse-flavoured number.
