Cave de Viré

Cave de Viré, makers of Tanners White Burgundy, is a top quality co-operative situated just north of Mâcon and has over 220 members producing mainly Viré-Clessé but also all the other local appellations.

It was originally founded in 1928 and has developed over the years with extensive modernisation programmes in the cellars and in persuading its members to follow lutte raisonée principles. They were also successful in 1998 in establishing the Viré-Clessé AOC. Total production is now over 27,000 hectolitres a year and their wines regularly win prizes at national and international level.
