Château Rives-Blanques
Domaine Rives Blanques is a thirty hectare estate situated between Carcassonne and Limoux in the Languedoc. The vines grow at an altitude of 750 metres within sight of the snow-capped Pyrenees, after which the domaine takes its name. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and the local Mauzac are the specialities; indeed Limoux is the only AOC Chenin in the South of France. Started by Jan and Caryl Panman at the turn of the millennium they retired in 2022 and the estate has been purchased by Pierre Bories the well-known owner, in the region, of Château Ollieux Romanis. The plan is to continue to run it as a separate entity and to continue the Panman’s legacy. The vineyards have now regained their organic status and this remains the underlying philosophy of the new owner.
