Favorita
Favorita is a white grape variety native to Piedmont in northwestern Italy. It is probably related to Vermentino if not a synonym, and you’ll come across it in the Roero hills near Alba. Favorita makes wines typically dry and light-bodied, with citrus, green apple, and almond flavours, often accompanied by a slightly salty, mineral edge. It’s commonly found in tavernas as a fresh and unoaked wine, preserving its crisp, aromatic profile. High quality, try it with all sorts of Italian dishes, it may well surprise you!
