Château Cos d'Estournel, 2e cru classé Saint-Estèphe 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£720.00 Sold Out

Cos is a grand château in Saint-Estèphe that sits just across the stream from Lafite in Pauillac (which is probably number one in the Médoc.) We liked the pure and fresh black fruit character, a bit of fresh raspberry behind. The structure is good, the tannins fine and the oak gives a wash of finesse in the finish. This has real precision and purity with good minerality.

Château Cos d'Estournel

This is architecturally one of the most elegant châteaux in Bordeaux, with 70 hectares under vine and one of the most striking facades as you drive up the hill after Lafite, mirrored on the inside by a very impressive modern chai. It was owned by the  d'Estournel family until the end of the 18th century but has been through several owners since. It is now in the capable hands of Michel Reybier who has taken the property on to new heights driven by investment and renovation.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
