Château Lafon-Rochet, 4e cru classé Saint-Estèphe 2022 En Primeur - Case of 6

£210.00 Sold Out

Lafon Rochet has been in the news because of a change of ownership in 2021. It was sad to see Basille Tesseron unable to see his project all the way through, but his groundwork puts the Lorenzetti family in great stead going forward and their appointment of Christophe Congé, formerly of Château Lafite, as Technical Director, adds a certain gloss. Scores of 92-94 and 95-97 initially, Antonio Galloni has given it 96 from bottle and talks of a host of floral and herbal aromatics and beautiful delineation. “A wine of sublime elegance and class, the 2022 is exquisite”.

Château Lafon-Rochet

The estate had been under the ownership of the Tesseron family since 1960, but in 2021, Château Lafon-Rochet was acquired by the Lorenzetti family. It now joins another trio of Bordeaux estates in the Vignobles Cruse-Lorenzetti portfolio: Châteaux d'Issan, Pédesclaux, and Lilian Ladouys. After a 24-year stint at the neighbouring estate, Château Lafite-Rothschild, Christophe Congé is now the Managing Director at Château Lafon-Rochet with 2022 being his first vintage at the reins.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
