Château Margaux, 1er cru classé Margaux 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£2,160.00

The 2023 Château Margaux is a classic in the making. Restrained and slow to reveal itself at first, with some encouragement it provides aromas of lavender, black cherry and clove. There’s a deep, unctuous core of black and purple fruit, hints of oak and an exciting energy coursing through the mid-palate. Juicy and salivating, it’s supported by generous ripe but silky tannins, and concludes with long, graphite laden finish. With an abv of 13.1%, this is an approachable first growth, but there’s no need to rush to drink it, this is just the beginning of a beautiful journey. Definitely a Château Margaux to seek out.

Château Margaux

Owned by INFIT and the Mentzelopoulos family since 1976, Margaux has had much time and effort spent on it, whilst the quality of the wines has remained as high as ever.

The investment has allowed for new planting, more rigorous selection and earlier bottling. 81 hectares of prime vineyards receive meticulous care, 12 of which are planted with Sauvignon Blanc and produce the oak-fermented dry white Pavillon Blanc. Famous and fine, multidimensional, opulent and complex reds. The second wine (red) is Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
