Château Pavie-Macquin, 1er grand cru classé 'B' Saint-Emilion 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£288.00 Sold Out

Cyrille Thienpont, who is now much more involved than his father Nicolas, rates the Cabernet Franc here as some of the best in Saint-Emilion. You see this most on the nose which is lifted, almost menthol with bright, curranty notes behind and some hints of vanilla. Plenty of cassis on the palate, plenty of energy and a racy side, good length and tight tannins, this is a more linear wine than it can be, fluid and fresh in the finish. 5-15 years.

Château Pavie-Macquin

This property is under the management of Nicolas Thienpont and guidance of oenologist Michel Rolland who have been making brilliant wines that boast concentration and density with boatloads of fruit and structure, and that require cellar ageing. The vineyards are worked in as organic a fashion as possible although without certification. Pavie-Macquin is star of Saint-Emilion. The second wine is Les Chênes de Macquin.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
