Vega Sicilia Unico Reserva Especial, Ribera del Duero - 2025 release En Primeur - Case of 3

£1,110.00

75cl ALC 14%

The Unico RE is always a blend of three exceptional vintages, and the 2025 release is made up of 2011, 2012, and 2013. 2012 is the powerhouse while the 2013 bring super freshness, and the 2011 more of a developed quality. Fully nine years in a mix of barrel, foudres, and bottle.

Graphite, truffle, tobacco, sapidity and tannin that is pure silk. It offers great balance and depth. Multi-layered aromas and a balance between smooth tannin and a clearly tertiary flavour profile with dried herbs and lots of cedar. 2024-2045 18/20

Ferran Centelles for JancisRobinson.com

It has a very harmonious and subtle nose, and the wine shows extra complexity and elegance. It has the Único nose with more nuance and subtleness, but what I liked the most was the silky texture and the elegance of the tannins, as usual combining more developed characteristics with elegance and freshness. This is another stellar release of their non-vintage classical blend, slowly going back to the style of yesteryear. 98/100

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
