Movino Tikveš

Movino was founded in 2015 by brother and sister, Pero and Maja Mocan and is still owned and managed by them. The winery is situated at Rosoman in the heart of the Tikveš region, the largest and best wine region in North Macedonia. Situated on a large plateau around the Vardar River, the area on the west side of the river is warm and fertile with long, hot summers where most of the wine production is centred.

With a capacity of 63,000 hl, the primary focus has been on bulk wine, but recently, they have expanded to develop sales in bottle and they are committed to developing this further, as well as introducing higher quality selections from individual plots. Export markets are key, particularly Europe, but also Asia and Canada. The winery has its own vineyards, 45 ha currently, with a further 70 ha being planted, all close to the winery and at about 200 metres altitude. These supply about 10% of the company’s needs with the rest bought in from growers. Grape varieties are mainly Vranec, but also other local varieties, together with some of the well-known international varieties. Harvesting is by hand and winemaking is in stainless steel under the close control of winemakers, Sonja Perkovska and Marina Krstevska.
