Tannat

The wine world’s only palindromic variety, Tannat is a native of South-West France, particularly Madiran, that has been embraced by Uruguay, where it appreciates the sun. Even so, it can be a little brutal with dense tannins, so it’s often best in a blend with Merlot. High in procyanidins (anti-oxidants), Tannat has a reputation from the health community of being the best red wine for zapping free radicals in your system!
