This is a large family run company, established in 1870 by Jaime Torres and his brother Miguel. The company is currently headed up by Miguel A Torres the Great Grandson of the original Miguel Torres and the fifth generation: Mareia, Arnau and Miguel all work for the company.
They have 1300 ha of vineyards in Spain as well as interests in Chile and California. They have 4 wineries in Spain, at Penedès, Priorat, Rioja and Ribera del Duero. They export to 140 countries across the globe. The companies Headquarters remain in Vilafranca del Penedès. Miguel A Torres has been described as one of Spain’s most innovative and influential winemakers. He also pioneered the planting of non-Spanish grape varieties across Spain.
