Coudoulet de Beaucastel, Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2022 En Primeur - Case of 6

£99.00

Ripe strawberry and blue fruits, dark flowers and a waft of garrigue. This is a well-proportioned and structured Coudoulet showing ample velvety tannins, a lovely natural fresness, and a long finish. 2-7 years.

"Dark in colour. Soft, juicy, velvety tannins. An approachable and well-balanced vintage of Coudoulet that should age well thanks to its tannic finesse, acidity and freshness. Though it is quite a tannic vintage, so give it some time." 92/100 Decanter Tasted by: Matt Walls (at Rhône Valley, 18 Sep 2023) Drinking Window: 2026 - 2034

"Reduced and introverted nose. The palate is sleek and rounded, with fine-grained tannins, blue fruit, violet notes and a floral character. Tight and tense and well balanced – meaty as well on the long finish." (Alistair Cooper MW) 17.0 Jancis Robinson.com

Perrin Family

The Beaucastel estate has been in the safe and capable hands of the Perrin family since 1909. Over time the vineyards expanded with Jean-Pierre and François adding La Vieille Ferme in 1989.

Since 1964 the entire property has been run along strict organic lines, though this is not stated on the label. They produce the longest lived wines of the Rhône Valley and they use all 13 permitted grape varieties. Also under the Perrin umbrella come the Coudoulet de Beaucastel, Côtes du Rhône and Perrin Reserve range.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
